Cheyenne Mountain Resort Raises a Glass to Local Craft Brewers with its

Beds & Brews Fall Experience

Home to nearly 30 craft breweries and more on the way, Colorado Springs keeps the suds flowing freely

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ─ Aug. 21, 2017 ─ Paying homage to the craft brewers that fill our pints, Cheyenne Mountain Resort is serving up a new experience that highlights the resort’s own, original craft beer and an assortment of other local brew favorites. Combining hospitality and sustenance with beer savvy, Beds & Brews treats beer aficionados to an array of indulging experiences including an in-room tasting, self-guided beer crawl map, deluxe accommodations, buffet dining and access to the resort’s AAA Four Diamond amenities and services such as golfing, tennis, swimming and spa.

In 2015, Cheyenne Mountain Resort partnered with Phantom Canyon Brewing Company to custom-brew its first, resort-inspired craft beer. Labeled 6035’ for Colorado Springs’ elevation, Phantom’s head brewer combines pure, crisp Colorado water with the region’s finest malted barley, hops, ale and yeasts to create seasonally flavored beers exclusively available at the resort. The resort’s Bar Manager works with Phantom’s head brewer four times a year to create a summer, fall, winter and spring beer to serve in its various outlets including Mountain View Restaurant, Elevations Lounge and Pineview Grille. To date, the 6035’ series has featured 8 unique beers and sold upwards of 250 beer gallons. Starting in fall, the resort will release a seasonal amber beer with notes of toasted biscuit malt flavors.

“As one of the few resorts in Colorado Springs to have its own private label craft beer on tap, it’s safe to say we love beer and appreciate its liquefied artistic form,” said Rachel Horgan, marketing manager at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. “In time for fall, this package gives guests an opportunity to enjoy signature favorites and sample new seasonal releases, all while having some fun in the process.”

Beds & Brews

With this libations package, guests will be armed with the tools to expand their beer knowledge and sample their way through Colorado Springs. Designed as a getaway for guys, girls or couples looking for a sudsy experience this fall, Beds & Brews includes:

Leaf Peeping

Any beer lover will affirm that there’s nothing like a cold beer after an active day outdoors. Luckily, Colorado Springs is home to some of the most amazing outdoor experiences in the state. Whether the trek outdoors is on foot, bike, or by car, below are the top five spots within 30 minutes of Colorado Springs to peep before you pour.

  1. Pikes Peak | Take the hour and a half winding road to the top of Pikes Peak- America’s Mountain for incredible views that are sure to thrill any nature enthusiast or take the Cog Railway up for a relaxing ride to the top.

  1. Seven Bridges | The 1.5 mile trail each way follows North Cheyenne Creek through shady forests. Once you've reached the seventh bridge, you can continue 0.4 miles to reach Jones Park, where you'll find aspen-filled meadows.

  1. Cheyenne Mountain State Park | This sprawling state park features 21 miles of hiking trails. For fall colors, Colorado Parks and Wildlife recommends the 1.8-mile Soaring Kestral Trail, which features scrub oak trees and beautiful views of the valley.

  1. Catamount Reservoir | Starting in Green Mountain Falls off U.S. 24, this hike will take you about 2 miles to South Catamount Reservoir along Pikes Peak Highway. After some uphill switchbacks, the trail winds through the Garden of Eden, home to a slew of aspens.

  1. Garden of the Gods | Walk around paved trails against the back drop of majestic red rock formations. The contrast of the golden leaves against the giant rocks is a sight that will take your breath away.
