Cheyenne Mountain Resort Takes a Bite Out of Family Dining Spend with New Kid Programs

Cheyenne Mountain Resort Takes a Bite Out of Family Dining Spend with New Kid Programs
Starting Memorial Day, resort changes age limit for free dining and adds GRUBClub

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - May 2, 2017 - As the end of school draws near, millions of families are gearing up for summer vacations. According to a recent AAA Family Travel survey, more than one-third of Americans (35 percent) are planning to take a family vacation in the next 12 months. While setting a vacation budget can be challenging when traveling with kids, Cheyenne Mountain Resort has launched two kid dining programs that will keep the kids fed, parents happy and the budget on track. Starting Memorial Day weekend, the Kids Eat Free program will feed more kids as the current six-year-old age limit is boosted to 10. For pre-teens and teens, the resort cooked up GRUBClub, an all-day dining pass that includes three square meals, a treat and unlimited beverages. Starting at $35 per day, GRUBClub can be added to any reservation and offers tiered savings for families with two or more kids.

“Our new dining initiatives were designed to take the financial bite out of family spend on food while vacationing,” said Rachel Horgan, marketing manager at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. “Family vacations are supposed to be spent having fun and enjoying quality time together and not worrying about what the kids can and can’t eat. With these new programs, parents will enjoy the budget freedom to let the kids eat without any billing surprises at check-out.”

Kids Eat Free
The new dining policy gives kids 10 and under a free dining credit in the resort’s Mountain View Restaurant. Kids can opt for the expansive buffet including an assortment of hot, cold and made-to-order dishes or the restaurant’s kid’s menu. Families will receive one free kids dining credit per adult meal purchase. Kids Eat Free is valid for breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets but is not valid on Sunday Brunch or entrées from the restaurant’s standard a-la-carte menu. With Kids Eat Free, families can save from $8 to $22 per child per meal.

Designed for kids with heartier appetites ages 11-15, GRUBClub is a daily dining program that includes three square meals, one ice cream treat and unlimited beverages. Each day, GRUBClubbers will pick up a wristband from the front desk they can use at any of the resort’s dining outlets, including Mountain View Restaurant, Elevations Lounge, Pineview Grille, The General Store, and the Pool Snack Bars. The wristband will have four dining tabs that will be hole-punched upon redemption. Parents do not need to be present for kids to redeem their meal selections. GRUBClub is $35 for one kid, $30 per kid for two and $25 per kid for three or more kids in a family. The wristband can be added to any guest package with no minimum day purchase requirements during the reservation process, or can be purchased on-property from the concierge or front desk.

Summers at Cheyenne Mountain Resort are filled with an assortment of free and moderately priced experiences. Families can enjoy everything from canoeing on the resort’s private 35-acre lake and toasting gourmet s’mores on the fire pit to splashing at one of five pools or catching a dive-in movie night.
